Default Curved handquilting needle?

My sister has a friend that told her they have a curved sewing needle for hand quilting that makes it so much easier to do and get more even stitching. Anyone else ever heard of it and know where you can get it?

Have never heard of it! The only curved hand sewing needle I am familiar with is used for upholstery. Will be interesting to hear what others have to say.

That's what I said! I've only seen them for upholstery or to sew carpet pieces together.

Not sure it would be something I could get my head or hands around but for those who can.....I think you can get these on amazon.com site and probably other craft stores too...several makers from john james to dritz.... google curved quilting needles to find more options

I will develop a curve in my hand quilting needle over time and I throw it away when that happens. The curve does not make it easier to load my needle since the curve doesn't stay in the right position.

I am hand piecing hexies and my needle has developed a definite curve. I find it is easier to not poke my thumb when stitching. I don't see how it would help with quilting tho.

You are right it is used more for sewing where a straight needle is difficult to use.
