Default help with this NEW one....cost $11 plus shipping...what do I have here?

Help..........if you can tell me anything about this newest addition to my Iron Ladies, I would sure appreciate it...I purchased it for $11.00 plus shipping......I know what brand it is, but that is about all..........the decals are not too bad, but ??? else......It looks like it needs a belt..it is a treadle or a hand crank or ?
The case is in pretty good shape, except for the fact that is wasn't packed well enough and it caused a split in the back side of the case...but its still holding together...loose handle, and the machine isn't actually mounted in it, just sitting in it right now.,........but it is pretty and old, and I would like to get it going if possible....any help is really appreciated..........
ok, for some reason, it is NOT letting me put the photos in, and we really need that............it is a white rotary ..so it says on the front......I will try to fix this so the site will load the photos in....no idea why it isn't...just says the file upload failed.....I have tried several different photos..same results................

I would love to see pictures. I hope your issue is fixed soon. At $11.00 before shipping it's a pretty certain guess that you didn't go wrong getting it. White Rotaries are nice, well designed machines. If you don't already know, they turn backwards compared to Singers. You might be able to find a manual at Singerco.com. Put a W in front of your model number if it has one. Chances are the case can be repaired with nothing more than some wood glue and a clamp. Pictures of the damage would help there too.
    Congrats on your new machine!

EDIT: The picture problem: The max size photo is 640x480 IIRC. Is it possible you're trying to upload too large of a photo?

FYI - shipping a machine in a foam ice cooler helps to keep it in one oiece. Of course the ice cooler goes into another box. Good Luck!

I was going to suggest what Rodney did. I resize all photos to 640x480. Otherwise you will get the upload failed notice. I use the Paint program if I'm on my laptop, and Photo Editor (free app) if I'm on my tablet to do the resizing.

    Regards,

Export your photo to your desktop at (medium size on a mac) and probably about a similar size from a PC. THEN attach it to your comments in the advanced mode. Try that to see if it works.

thanks much for telling me how to do the photos.....my hubby has the camera right now, changing settings and etc, so it will do a smaller size picture thing?????? you can tell I don't be very knowledgeable about it.........but then I will try again..........
.I think this machine could be a hand crank??? there is no belt, but I see the grove where a belt should go (I think)...........there is a little knob on the wheel, that you can hold on to and turn the wheel and the needle goes up and down.......I need a book, I don't want to do anything wrong with it...........
ok, going to go take more photos and try again.....thanks for all the help...........

Thanks for the pictures. Too bad about the case. You might be able to force some wood glue into the break and clamp things back together. After the glue is dry, sand lightly to smooth the edges out and coat with some shellac. The repair will show but the case will be usable.

I don't think any of my Whites have that knob. I think it's the clutch knob for bobbin winding. Mine have a little lever you flip in and out to work the clutch.

Does anyone know if White made hand crank versions of their machines? I'd like to see one.

The two holes in the back of your pillar are where a Hamilton Beach motor on a swing away mount was attached.

Overall your machine looks complete and it's in good cosmetic shape. I think you did really well. White Rotaries are really well built machines.
