Default Week 3

So … now grab your B and C fabrics. You will make 12 half square triangle blocks that measure 4-1/2” square. Refer to the directions from last week. Don’t discard any scraps.

Now you will have 12 of each of the AB and BC combo. So many many ways to put them together! But I think you may have a tiny surprise coming next week.

Today I am off to Houston to visit my DD, leaving on the 1:00 plane, so need to get packed, showered and dressed, get the dog to the dog sitter, and off to the off-airport carpark to catch the shuttle to the airport, then sit and wait for an hour before we get packed into a plane for 2-1/2 hrs. Phew! Tired already just thinking of getting there. So much easier when she was a 6 hour drive away – and the dog loved our road trips. I will check in with you late tomorrow afternoon, but don’t think anyone will have any questions since you are just doing more of the same as last week! Hope you don’t get too bored. Next week will be the really fun one!

I'm just being a hobo and riding the rails for free while I enjoy the scenery of this trip.

Since I got the square up ruler (link above) in the 9 1/2" size I feel the world of HST and QST are a breeze compared to what they use to be. One of the best rulers I have ever bought. In fact I got a couple of them so I can use one in our Christmas "Dirty Santa/Chinese Auction" exchange at our LQS. I got the bigger size for more flexibility and might get a smaller one just so my boobs aren't in the way when I twirl my cutting board around (oooo TMI).

The link also has a short video of E Burns using her square up ruler a little ways into it.

I'll slide back into the shadows now and pull my covers back up to my chin nestled down in the fresh straw someone tossed in the open doorway. I'm harmless and won't eat too much...BTW, I do clean up some of the crumbly messes in the club car now and then.
thanks for the link and the info. That's a better way of squaring up. I'm happy to say that I also bought a 9.5" square as well so i shouldn't need anymore, unless bigger.

Thanks, I'm going to check into this 😀

Well looks like someone else beat me to posting the 8 at a time method. The easiest way to figure is: Example: If you need a 5 1/2" block, you take 5 1/2 x 2+ 11", then add 1 3/4" = 12 3/4" to cut 2 blocks. You draw a line across the middle, both ways, then corner to corner both ways. You sew the 1/4" away from each diagonal mark. Carefully cut on the 2 middle lines, don't take apart, cut along the diagonal lines. WAALAA, you have 8 HST. There is very little to trim.

Hope this helps.
