Jaba, so sorry to hear but it looks like they caught it early enough that chemo and or radiation will help. And Im a firm beleiver in prayers and you KNOW that all of us will be keeping you in our boom prayers! You have been the longest person Ive swapped with, for many years and Ive truly enjoyed and learned from you....Hugs and prayers..wish you would go ahead and send your fabrics and let us make you blocks and NOT worry about making ours until you feel like it!! Try not to worry and please let us know how or if we can help!!

Jaba, so sorry to hear that shocking news. Sounds like they caught this early and the treatment should be successful. Of course we will be praying for you as you go through it... hope you can keep us updated. <3<3<3 and big hugs.

Jaba, thank goodness you knew something was wrong and had it checked out. Catching it early is so impt. I will be praying for a complete recovery and thank you for sharing with us. You are family and we want to support you and be here for you.

My lap band removal shouldn’t be major surgery and will be laparoscopic. Depending on which revision I go with one is surgery and a few days in hospital, other option is major surgery and requires a 3 or 4 day hospital stay. No commitments at this point

TG great looking quilt.

I also hope that your journey with cancer will be successful. You are already a strong and good person and I admire your desire to use this experience to grow. My thoughts and prayers will be with you and your family as you receive treatment. Although this is my first boom, I will be happy to do side swaps if you desire. I truly hope they will find the right chemo so that you have minimal side effects. Thank you for sharing something that you are still figuring out yourself. Lots of support heading your way.

We got back to Wyoming and I called the doctor the next day, she got me in for an appt. the next day and referred me to another doctor immediately. Since I saw the new specialist it has been a whirlwind. The last 6 days I have had a colonoscopy and 2 surgeries, last 1 yesterday. 1st it was definitely positive for cancer and thought was that it was colon cancer but that came back negative cancer for the colon. Turns out the cancer is in the skin layer before it definitely is in the colon. My surgeon wanted to make certain there was no cancer in the colon so that was for the second surgery yesterday, he took 2 more specimens to send in for a biopsy just to make sure. If they come back negative then the cancer I have is a high grade squamous intraepithelial lesion.....what it amounts to is that the cancer somehow starts in the skin layer before going into the colon or in some cases the uterus. Outcome is that I will have to have chemo and radiation. Until next week when the final results come back I don't for sure if surgery will be involved also.

I have communicated with Janice and have decided that the best option is for me to not participate in Boom 21. I truly will miss this, have been in everyone since I joined the Quilting Board. I will pre-warn all of you, if health wise from the chemo and radiation will let me make blocks I will be on this board and asking for side swaps....I have my fabric all packaged and ready to mail.
I'm not telling all of you this for any sorrow, you are family and I felt that you should know the truth instead of just wondering why I hadn't posted anything. I'm hoping my journey with cancer will be successful and I will be a stronger and better person because of it. I'm not ready for anything else yet, I still have a lot to do

Jaba we are all keeping you in our thoughts and hoping for the very best outcome and that you can tolerate chemo treatments with relative ease. I will always side swap with you whenever you are ready.

{hugs}

Jaba, sending love your way. And since there is plenty of love to go around (I'm channeling the minister from the royal wedding here on the power of love) I'm sending more in the direction of Terri and QM as well! Our bodies are amazing, complex machines... believe in the power of healing.

Jaba - send your fabric, I know I would LOVE to make one for you.

Jaba, I will gladly make your block and not expect one in return if you want to send it along.

Hugs to you. Hang in there. Chemo can be tough, but they have some really good drugs now. I am now 21 years cancer-free.
