Default White model 658 30170

Hi,
I'm new here so don't really know what I'm doing. Today I purchases a White 658 30170 but can not find any information on it, such as an owners manual or anything. Am I doing something wrong? Hope it was not a mistake in buying this one... Can anyone help?

Thanks
Debbie

You can find manuals on the Singer site under the support tab. You need to enter W plus the model number. This is the page that came up when I tried https://www.singer.com/search/suppor...le=W 650 30170

If that is not the manual, someone may be able to identify the model if you post a picture. Hope this helps.

Welcome Debbielee1121

A picture might help, besides we like pictures Does it look like Vintage White Model 658 (Japan) My New Restoration project If it does, than it would be what is called a 15- clone. You can read about them.at Will the Real 15 clone please stand up

Also, if it is a 15-clone, it is a machine that does well for FMQ.

Looks like a 3/4 size Japanese clone of a Singer 15. Lots of info on the clones. I'm a bit jealous.

Thank you for the info. Maybe with this I can find something showing me how to thread it. Please don't be jealous...I have no idea what I'm doing... I'm just hoping it's a good machine I can learn to quilt on.

look up a Singer 15 manual. It will help you bunches. I have too many VSMs to be seriously jealous.

Congratulations Yes, these are good machines for quilting. Excellent straight stitch and bobbin in correct position for Free Motion Quilting (FMQ).

Don't forget to oil it with sewing machine oil or Tri-flow oil.

If you have a full size 15 clone, just the bed of the machine will measure about 15 inches wide. I think the bed on 3/4 machines is 12-13 inches wide.

Have fun.
