Just bought this a few weeks ago from a yard sale. I wiped it down a bit and oiled where it needed to be oiled. All I need are a few needles and an extra bobbin shuttle and I'll be ready to stitch! (I'd appreciate help with the needle search)

I am not fast with dropping bobbins in to shutlles, but I've never seen a reason for a pre-loaded shuttle.

For some reason Minnesota A New Model A sewing machine wasn't a hot link, at least on my computer.

Actually, I think Terry's is a Davis as it has a squarish needle plate like the one in post #6 at MY Sears Minnesota sewing machine! I was thinking there are some Davis Minnesota A's that take 15x1 and others that take Davis long. ETA I just read further at that link and Jon said there is a casting and which casting uses which needle at post #8.

Very nice. This is the early Davis A9 made in 1909. You'll need the Davis long 2" needle or Boye (brand name) #10. Needles, bobbins, and shuttles are not made anymore but can be gotten on ebay or etsy.

i would add ; oil every point were metal moves against metal. It has been dry a long time, Welcome aboard.
