With the old format, when I viewed a thread or posted a comment on a thread the Thread Title would change colors. It made it easy to know if I had visited that thread before. I don't see any color change or any indication that I've been to the thread before.
Yes, this observation has been made by others in this thread and I believe is on the list of things to work on.

However, I have noticed that when I read a thread, the title changes from a bold font to a regular font. It might be hard for you to see because of the color, which is also on the list. HTH

If members had read PatriceJ's responses all along, Members would know that it was a surprise to her also! It seems that the owners had a good reason for the change and that is all we will ever know. I hope that members will try to get used to things, and read all the messages in the Help Center. No, I didn't like it either, but I am using it and getting used to it, and patiently awaiting the changes PatriceJ has requested as the result of our feedback.

i'm sorry, but a lot of what's been posted here today is simply not correct.
i am not going to address each and every one.
i deleted a lot of it.
nearly all of it has been answered before and before and before.

it took me a day or two to realize it myself, but the new format is actually better than the old.
one huge problem is that we had no warning. some people refuse to just get over the shock and give it a chance.
if i could turn back time so they could do it politely i would, but i can't. neither can they.
and they know they screwed up. they are trying to do better in that regard and keep me (us) better informed going forward.
it's time to get over it. they are listening and will fix or change - what they can - more to our preferences.

the biggest problem is that the colors are so horrid a lot of you can't see it well enough to figure that out.
that will be fixed. i hope the color scheme will be pretty close - if not exactly the same - to the old when the board comes back online on Monday. if it is still too hard to read you should already know i will keep complaining until we have something that works.

it is no less user friendly than the old format.
it is not organized any differently to the old format.
there are several new menu options that make getting around faster.
take the time to explore.
don't wait to be spoonfed.

nobody could blame you if it's too hard to read in the current color scheme.
if that's the case, then come back on Monday evening or Tuesday.
then put on your big-girl panties and give it a fair chance.

I went into my secret bag of magics to look at your settings.
You had uploaded a profile picture ... not an avatar. they are two separate things.
(i will never admit this publicly a second time but i made the same mistake when resetting my own avatar. don't tell anybody. our little secret ... ok?)
since i was in there anyway i fixed it for you.
if you go back to your User CP i think you will see what i'm talking about here.

Default Another discovery for corection

While going through new post pages, they give a notice of "Sorry, no matches. Try some different terms". I'm just trying to go to the next page of posts.

I'm grateful to Patrice for the update that says it's a work in progress, but do want to weigh in that I, too, agree with several of the complaints and will look forward to the fix.

May I suggest one little improvement I'd like to see on this site? If they could add a button to thank, thumbs up, or agree under each post it would save a lot of time both in the reading of many people saying the same thing and also in responding to posts that need nothing more than an up vote.

Thanks for all the work you all do to manage this marvelous behemoth of a site!
