And one of the best I remember is "I solemnly swear by Cary Grant!" and you had to keep your word.

Those Poodle skirts with the under skirts stiffened with sugar water and then ironed to a cardboard stiffness, that is, until you started sweating or sat down, then the whole thing stuck to your legs. And saddle shoes with one penny in each shoe, the dates on them must be the same or else bad luck, and ankle socks turned down exactly two times. Hair swept up in front, flat on top I think and then rolled all around on the ends. Murder to keep up.

I had a picture of me in a lovely poodle skirt..in later years it made me look like I was slowly sinking into the ground, so I cut up the picture and was glad the skirt was history.

what flash backs. It reminds me of jump ropes, hula hoops, jacks and many more. I had lots of pop beads when I was a little girl. I had a few pearl toned ones. they were like diamonds to me. no one could touch those.and wow I loved the waxed lips, black wax mustaches etc. remember the little dots of candy on a piece of paper ( kinda like register reciept paper)That was all penny candy and some 5 cents. black licorice pipes. I could go on and on. thanks for the memories Mary

I got some pink, blue and white ones for my 8th birthday. I didn't know until now that they made earrings or that grownups wore them. I might still have mine up in the attic. Maybe with my Tiny Tears doll.

Candy dots! Still one of my favorites. In fact, I have a package in my sewing room. I keep it in reserve, you never know when you'll need candy dots.

Oh wow, Tiny tears, my favorite doll. How about roller skates, with the key we wore around our necks. Scarves on our ponytails. ....../..Michele

remember making scooters and coasters from old 2x4"s and skate wheels. We put old tuna cans on the front to look like headlights. Mary

I used to love pop beads! My friend and I would chew on them and one day I ran home crying because I swallowed one! My Dad comforted me and never really explained where it would end up but not to chew them anymore!
My Mom washed in the wringer washer...it was a good day because she made homemade bread and a big pot of chili on wash day!

You are going to think I am crazy, but does anyone remember running behind the mosqutio truck that use to come around fogging the neighbor hood to kill mosgutios, we were just talking about that at work the other day, we never thought anything of it back then, was just fun running through the fog, heaven knows what that stuff did to our lungs......Michele
