This would also eliminate all the extra cutting and piecing required to insert the sashing. Am I out of line here? Hope not. Sorry, forgot to actually answer your question. I go with the yellow because it's a nice contrast and also blends with the center of each of your flowers. You have some other very pretty colors that would blend well so you really have a nice choice..
That's good rule of thumb! I hadn't thought of that. Will do it on future quilts
thanks

Not going to anyone special....just trying to get rid of stash. Will probably pack it up for future grandchild's wedding/leaving home gift. We have 11 grandkids...I've got to get busy!

Thanks all -- I bought the yellow yesterday. When company leaves today I'll get busy and finish that quilt!

I like your first one with the Yellow square replacing the 9 patch and white shashing. I do a lot of quilts. The sashing is supposed to be like a picture frame. If it too striking, all you see are the sashing strips.

Beautiful vibrant colors in the plates! I know you have already made your choice but I think I would have gone with more vibrant sashing, say a rich golden yellow. That's why I love these design questions, everyone has a different opinion, makes me think outside the box. Can't wait to see this finished. Please don't forget to post.

I like the yellow as it sets off each block. But I think your idea of the light yellow would be the best choice. It wouldn't take away from the overall effect.

I like the sashing in color. The blocks are framed this way and each one seems more important.
