I thought it would be fun to do a Snowman Door Banner Swap to have something to hang up when the Christmas wreaths come down!

These are the official guidelines:

1. SIGN UP ends Friday, December 10, 2010.

2. DO NOT sign up until your banner is finished and packed for mailing.

3. SEND ME a PM with your real name and mailing address. Please let me know if you live outside the U.S. or if you can ship internationally. I will send you a name and address to which you'll mail the banner. I will provide each swapper a name and address no later than Monday, December 13, 2010.

4. You MUST sign up by PM. I might accidentally overlook attempts to sign up by posting in this topic.

5. MAILING DEADLINE: Wednesday, December 15, 2010.

6. SIZE: The banner should measure at least 12 x 16, but no larger than 16 x 28 inches.

7. MATERIALS: Use 100% cotton fabric for the basic banner. Be as creative as you want. Embellishment is greatly encouraged!! The design can be from a published pattern or an original design. The possibilities are endless and it should contain at least one snowman.

8. LABEL: a label for the back of the banner is optional but some type of permanent identification is encouraged.

Please read the Rules for Swaps and Similar Activities at:

don't overstress about that. while it's true that most people associate snowmen and christmas, the fact is that the two are totally unrelated.

we make snowmen from snow. it snows on lots of days other than Dec 25th. it would snow whether or not there were any holidays of any kind or reason on the calendar. ;-)

if the recipient wants to use the banner specifically for christmas, it would be a simple matter of adding something to the banner once they have it.

if it will make the swap more fun, those making banners could include a detachable section that has elements specific to christmas or the generic "happy holidays" theme. if the person who gets it doesn't celebrate anything in particular, she/he simply leaves it off when they hang the banner. i hope the recipient would have enough sense to not be offended. she/he should appreciate the effort and extra thought that went into making the banner multi-purpose. :-)

toooooooo easy. :-)
