The instructor gave them a break to see it and actually came up herself. Next thing I know, they are on their cellphones calling friends to come in to see it. I was waiting for the news crew and cameras to show up from the local TV station. To say the least, the rows were a hugh hit. Everyone asked me to tell you how wonderful your work was. Hats off to the two of you, I am truely grateful to be among such wonderful artisians. Congratulations on a job well done.

The shop is a house that she converted into the store. On the 1st floor there are 5 different rooms with shelves on 3 walls full of fabric. Downstairs is the classroom. Jacquie, everyone just adored your center heart. I think that block got the most wonderful comments. But I am glad I was able to share it with so many people.
Because they are all quilters, they were very respectful and didnt even try to touch the fabric. After I left, I thought I should have had them sign your journal, you would really have had something to remember.

I would be more than happy to add it...and maybe take it on another trip to the shop and show it off and get some signatures for you. I will remember to take pictures too.

Pat, that would be fantastic! thank you, i would love for you to do all for me, if it's not too much trouble!!
thanks!!!

Dayle, there is another picture i would like to share with you and the group...
during my years as a 'carer' in an old folks home run by the 'church of scotland' i collected a lot of old sewing baskets from ladies who had passed away. so, my bobbin collection is like looking at candy, i can tell you.
well, one of the bobbins of cotton i used to stitch down the hair had some old writing on it written with a fountain pen...
it says, in lovely penmanship...
"Super, 3/80, 68," (not too sure what that means)
then a date...
"7/9/26" so in the UK, that's 7th September 1926.
so Dolly Rachael really is a 1930's dolly!
here is a pic...

1926 thread...

WOW ..... How neat! Great story piece .... that date reflects 3 years before Herman (my husband) was born .... he just celebrated his 82nd Birthday on the 6th of January. Please write this information down in the little journal I sent with my row ..... and "THANX" for sharing. I
