I am so glad you gals like what I'm doing for this row .... especially you, Jacquie ..... since it is "your quilt"! Was just sitting here, getting ready to have the "Good Morning Cup of Coffee" to wake me up and get me started ..... and was telling Herman (thinking of the production of this row) ..... "Wouldn't this make a fantastic all over quilt and to go along with that squirrel .... have a block here and there, with an elk deer - antelope - turkey - bear - chipmunk - etc."? OMG .... "Stop this Dayle, you've got too many projects going on right now to even be thinking this way"!

lol...
talking of lots of projects, i've lost count of how many i'm doing right now!!

and, i've just had a phone call from my friends mum to ask if i would make 2 'christening' dresses for the 2 little girls of the young lady who took her life a couple of weeks ago...
'of cause'!! i said!! no question!!!

you see my friend, (who is my age, 41) now has 2 little ones to look after... they are 2.5 yrs & 3.5 yrs... and 2 beautiful little angels they are as well. i'm just about to drive over now to take a look at her wedding dress which will soon become 2 little dresses...
they will be baptised on easter sunday. lovely!!

catch you all later!

Jacquie, there are times that we just have to say yes to and put other things aside and you knew this was one of them. God Bless you and the little ones you will be making those dresses for. I would love to see pictures of the dresses if you could post some when they are done. I wish I was there to help you as this is a truly wonderful and blessed thing you are doing.

"OH, MY" ..... how blessed and sweet. Right now it ran through my mind, although these little girls are indeed so small right now ..... "What a beautiful treasure and 'keepsake' they will have, in rememberance of their dear mother". I can see the dresses in years to come .... framed, sealed, underglass in a window-box frame .... on display and hanging on the wall. Wish I was closer, like Joan said ..... I could/would help you.

i can't wait to make these... when i turned up, the wedding dress & train was actually the 'great grandmothers'!!

OMGoodness!! i thought!! and you want me to cut it up!!! eeeeek!!

i'm going to make them a dress & bolero each. these will be their christening dresses, and then when the girls are a little older, the youngest girl will wear the older ones dress for their confirmation with their nana's & great grandmothers veils and tiaras...
just beautiful!!

i'm actually quite excited about making these!!

the dress i will make is the photographed dress, but it will be up to the knee, with the bolero made from lace (& lined)

the great grandmothers wedding dress which i am using, is plain satin with lace trim at the top, arms and hem of dress, and the train is embroidered satin. i will get one dress out of each and the boleros will be made of the lace.

dress & bolero
