Your DJ is exquisite...I've just started on mine...my 2011 resolutions were to finish a Dear Jane and a Farmer's Wife just for me....you've inspired me! Love the binding tute...my bindings are very nice but I've never attempted one on a scalloped edge. You make it look doable.

Kathy, I never had either, it scared me to death! I think thats why I did the long strip. It would have been much easier to remove the messed up scallops in strips rather than pieced scallops. Its not nearly as hard as you are thinking though....be BRAVE!! LOL!

I could have just smacked myself when I saw that you had added the border to scallop thinking "why didn't I think of that"....I honestly didn't notice in your first post about finishing your Chocolate DJ....it's a wonderful idea that I hope to use in other quilts too. It will be awhile before I'm at this point in my DJ but when it comes time to do the border...you can bet I'll be back here....it's bookmarked...please don't remove it for at least a year...lol....

Thanks for your tutorial including pics. 2 questions: How wide did you cut the binding? and am I understanding this correctly, I'll be looking at the quilt back as I sew the binding on? I hope to be at this stage soon. Thanks again!

Kathy, I won't be removing this thread at all..LOL! I'm glad if it helps you.
Sue..I cut the binding 2 1/4" wide then folded it over. Remember I marked it and cut it on a continuous roll to be continuous bias binding. Yes, you will be looking at the back of the quilt as you sew. Sew it slowly and stop right at the pin that you used to mark the "pivot" point at the bottom of the dip. Good luck and be sure to post a pic of your Baby!
