Thanks for making this so simple to reference. Woman have always enjoyed "options". We can now enjoy either the tute you shared with us, or MSQC video. Either way, there will be many quilters making this newest quilt. Eye candy for sure Thank you !

Fabulous photo instructions, have the pictures printed out on both sides of a paper. Made notes on each picture to do everything in the proper steps. That way I will just have to use 1 sheet of paper to follow the steps to make them.
Thank you so much for the time spent to show us how it is done.

Most of the re-cut blocks have bias edges. Starch your fabric well and handle carefully. The pieces do stretch but that helps to line up the pieces. All the pieces end up with bias edges. I will post a picture with the grain lines in the white so you can see. I didn't mark the lavender but they are bias also.

[QUOTE=Nammie to 7;6779191]If you didn't want bias edges couldn't you just make 4 half square triangles, sew them together and then do the cutting? Is there an advantage to have everything be on the bias?[/QUOTE
Bias edges are a disadvantage to any block construction. If you started with 4 half square triangles and made them into the Hourglass block, it would be better. I just did the 12 and 1/2 inch size for the original method since some were interested in constructing this block the way it was shown but in a larger size.
