I just watched a Kaye Wood video ( her site). She shows how to cut hexes with little waste. You need a triangle ruler (I made a cardboard template.I needed 3 inch square so I cut a 3 inch strip WOF fold as you do binding to made 1.5 inch strip.Put some tape 1.5 inches from tip of triangle. Put the tape mark on fold line cut on both sides of triangle, you have a hex. Wish I knew how to link here.

I'm giggling away to myself because - before I watched "How to make an American Quilt" - I thought that this was the only way to quilt!
