WOW, Lea, you did it!!!!! Yay!!
I hope others will, too and share here; it'll be so fun to see how the colors work in different quilters' blocks. I hope to make my own tonight. But I'm not sure about how to photograph it for you as I don't have a camera or a smart phone....I'll think on it.

P.S. Visiting your blog (just lovely!) for the first time allowed me to put a pretty face to the name I've known and enjoyed since the Barracks Quilts days! Love it!

Here is the article on Leatheflea's blog about this pattern. Lots of quilters read her site and she's offering it as a free pattern (with my consent, of course), so QB members should consider making one for us before the non-QB world starts posting their blocks!

I made my first block last night but have to get a friend to help take a picture before I can post it here. I want to make about 12 blocks, each having the colors in different placements within the blocks. I still LOVE the inspiration picture!

    Get sewing!

Here are two of three blocks I have made and have finally gotten photoed for you all. In both the colors are inspired by the original picture posted on the first page, but you will notice that only one block is colored almost exactly like the drawn block pattern. I will have 12 blocks eventually and each will follow the inspiration of the picture, but not all will feature the orange, as there are other colors in that picture as well!

The corners are actually a Jinny Beyer dark teal rather than black in the first block.
The 'sashing' is a teal in the second block.

Leatheflea, those colors sing, sing, sing!! BTW, my favorite quilt from my great grandmother is bright orange, dark blue and white!! So yours will become someone's favorite, trust me! :-)

Jan, your colors are terrific and love the teal!
