Thanks for these directions, I will be using these in my next baby quilt, I'm hoping it will be pink, my daughter is expecting her third. She has two wonderful little boys and will know next week if the baby is a girl or a boy. Thanks again, George S.

Thanks for the tutorial. The pinwheels are so cute! My friendship group made a baby quilt for one of our members whose daughter had a baby girl. It turned out adorable.

Love this design, I have 40 Batik squares 10 inches by 10 inches if I cut the each square into four 5 inches by 5 inches would this be too small for the wings?

I was so awed when I saw a quilt like this at a show and couldn't imagine how difficult it would be to do. You've shown us how simple this is. Now I have another to-do to wow my quilting friends with! Thanxxxxx, SonjaK

This is my first attempt at this block. This one is just pinned in place. Can't do this one by hand, folds too thick. The strip at the bottom is part of the border.

Thanks Seymoore!

Fred, it's not hard at all. Very easy and fun! I'm gonna try one where I vary my background squares and the size of my pinwheels. EX: 6" square for background and a 4" square for the pinwheel. I think it can be done because you're gonna fold the 4" square into a triangle and lay it on the corner of the 6" square anyway. Should be interesting.

Thank you so much. What a relief! It is so cute. Thanks again.

Still needs one more border, but here's how mine has turned out! I decided not to use batting in this though...I might suggest others use bigger blocks and less of them if you're making a baby or quilt for a small child because this puppy is HEAVY! I'm just going to back it with minky I think. :)

SMR 10-18-2011 01:19 PM

Definitely looks easier than the ones I've been using. Bookmarked til the next bag that needs these. Thank-you
