My pictures are on page two of this message. If you go all the way through several others have posted pictures as well.

Did it.....so easy and fun to do.....quilting stabilizes the whole garment. Not pc techie enough to add a picture but I did a kimono style vest to wear over satin back flannel pajamas. Since I cut off the sleeves-I'm using the pieces to try making
ear warmer headbands with huge flowers. See how you inspire
Thank you so much. I think we have as much rain in Central CA as you do in WA.

Stay stitching around the sweatshirt before you cut off the binding helps it hold its shape.

I cut the neck ribbing off, as well as cutting up the center front after I've finished all the "patchwork", and put binding on neck, front, and bottom. I usually put a cuff/border on the sleeve so I can turn up the sleeves a little bit. A lady came to our quilt guild and did a workshop on these shirts. On some of them, she left the neck ribbing on, and put the bottom ribbing back on and didn't cut them up the front -- and her husband wears some of them. The ones she showed us were just gorgeous. I'll see if I can find some pictures and post them later.

I've wanted to try this on a sweatshirt and I have even cut one open, but I've been too chicken to get started. Maybe now I will.

I've wanted to try this on a few of my old maxie length jackets... Not fully covered.. More like a design on the sleeve cuffs, collar and maybe a design going up the back of the jacket..I'm just not sure how the difference in material thickness would flow..It's definitely on my list of things to try...

If you use cotton, it should not be very thick at all. If you use anything heavier, it will be noticeably different, but many coats have fur or a cuff that add weight.
