Have done many bargello but never heard of a fractured bargello. Can you show a picture of what you have done and maybe the instructions?? Very interested. Sounds challenging.

Hi, I was just reading this tutorial and I love the two jackets you made. I actually went to the Original Sewing Expo yesterday at the Minneapolis Convention Center and I watched one of the stage presentations on making these jackets. Everything was very similar except the lady actually rolled the neck ribbing down --in half (towards the outside of the jacket)
and then zigzagged it down so it was a very small ribbing. Made for a neater look. And on one jacket, she actually put a binding over the neck ribbing so the ribbing didn't show at all. She cut the binding 2 1/4". That also made for a very nice look. Just some hints for you since it looks like you make these. I can't wait to make one--but doubt I'll have time before Xmas. Even though I would like to make one for my mom. I still have 2 quilts, 7 shopping tote bags, and 2 salad bowl carriers to make for Xmas presents. And I work a full time job--so doubt I'll have time to do this sweatshirt also!. Are you from Minnesota? or from Minnesota originally? I am from MN. I always find it interesting to talk to other Minnesotans on here.

I absolutely love this jacket you did. I have a question though. It appears as though you cut off the neck ribbing. Did you? If so, did you cut it off very last before adding the binding all aroung the edges? I just love this idea of using the batiks. I am a Hotel Manager at a Casino and I dress up (but not too dressy and would like to make some of these jackets. The one you have pictured here actually looks more dressy than the patchwork ones. Could you please reply to me on how you did this neckline? Thanks.

OMG, this brown is so elegant! Do love all of them, but this brown just speaks to me for so many uses. Thanks for the tute. I have been wanting to do one of these, but other tutes seem so complicated. You have inspired me to get started...right away!

Is the jacket heavy with all those extra seams and thread? Or bulky? Do you have a picture? Sounds like a great idea.

OK, it all looks gorgeous, but what do you do if down the road you want to throw this beautiful item in the laundry? How do you wash it (if you do) and do you iron it afterwards?
