I'm working on this block now. I'm using a 2 1/2" center square and 1 1/4" side strips. My corner triangles are also 2 1/2" squares cut on the diagonal, rather than larger squares quartered as in your tute.
I have found it easier if I cut off the overlaps of the strips before I sew on corner triangles using the 45 degree lines on my ruler to keep the block square. Will send pics later.

How large is your finished block? Looking forward to your pictures.

Yes, pls. post pics as I have done 4 framing some 12" blocks and the corners are NOT all the same size or really good. I am a visual learner and can't seem to figure out how to do that part.

Here's my adaptaion of the block. It makes a 6 1/2" finished block with a 2 1/2" cut center and 1 1/4" cut side strips and corner triangles cut from 2 1/2" squares.

WOW!, these blocks look great. Thanks for the tute as well. I really would like to see the quilt you make with this.
