It's beautiful....and all by hand. What a talent you must have!!

DDuMouchel 04-10-2016 03:40 PM

Talk about persistence! Great job, Davena!

Redtop 04-16-2016 11:56 AM

I found this thread last week and decided to use some of my scraps. I have my quilt 1/2 way completed. This is a perfect pattern to use some of the small pieces I've saved for years. Thanks sooo much for your pattern and the wonderful info.

suern3 04-16-2016 01:45 PM

Thanks for sharing this!

grannysewer 04-20-2016 06:37 AM

Davena's quilt is beautiful! I got one finished on the machine and did the faux binding you mentioned. Have since used the binding on another quilt and everyone is so impressed with my "talent" to make that little fringe! If they quilt I share the site, if not, I just say thank you. But a BIG Thank you to you for sharing the site and tute!

Adding the sashing to the block makes all the difference, I see. I can't wait to try this!

Momma two 04-25-2016 07:10 AM

Thank you Momma two! :)

I consider this a technique vs. a pattern. Whatever you call it, I would be honored that you would like to print it out. If you make anything from the technique, please send me a picture. <3

Jane Quilter 05-11-2016 06:00 PM

I am with mandyrose. This will be my next quilt.

Redtop 05-31-2016 12:54 PM

Thanks Jenn for great instructions for this perfect scrappy quilt!!! I LOVE log cabin pattern and have made several, but this is a perfect way to use some of the small scraps that just won't go away. I finished piecing a queen size using your pattern--love it. I plan to use more scraps for another quilt. This is soooo simple but I never would have thought to piece squares and make a log cabin. Thanks.....

I tried to print this off but the pictures did not print. Can someone tell me if they have printed it and if so, give me instructions on how to print from here?

Third Place!

Since this quilt has gotten such positive comments, I decided to enter it into the State Fair of Virginia... and I placed third! :) Woo Hoo!

One young woman said as she looked at it that it reminded her of her grandmother. How sweet!

ube quilting 09-26-2016 08:16 PM

Congratulations. I love it.

oksewglad 09-26-2016 09:29 PM

Congratulations...how exciting.

I have 36 blocks done for a QOV quilt...because of size recommendations I will be using 24 of them with a sashing and cornerstones with added borders...now to try to set the other 12...I may have enough "log" fabric to make additional blocks...I alternated blue and cream squares to give the block a checkerboard look...Will try to post a picture when done.

luvstoquilt301 09-27-2016 06:17 AM

What a great tute!!!

grammasharon 09-27-2016 10:35 AM

So beautiful. I will now know how I can use up my 2.5" squares and white fabric that has accumulated. Thank you for sharing this tute. Very self-explanatory.

Jenn....I am so happy to find your thread here with the directions for your beautiful quilt.

Lucky you to have your birthday this month so you can "restock" your 2.5" squares from the birthday swap.

This quilt is on the top of my "to do list" looks like you did a great job on the directions as well.

Thank you!!!

Barb
