Rhonda's Star Flight Quilt Block Tutorial

Here is a quilt block I designed and a PDF file with the directions on how to make this quilt block. The tutorial also includes a new updated version of my Wings shortcut block.

Oh, that is beautiful. I love the way your blocks end up looking paper pieced but are not. Another project on my to-do list! Thank you.

You are so generous with your time and free templates. What a wonderful new blocks you've created.
put off till tomorrow what you can do today, and if you procrastinate long enough, you may never have to do it.

If you use a 2 1/2" template the quilt block will come out to be 12 1/2" if your seam allowance is 1/4". Some have made it and their seam allowance wasn't quite 1/4th so it came out closer to 13". So be careful to be as exact as you can. Course if you use the same seam allowance for all of your quilt blocks then it won't really matter.

You can also change the size of the paper patterns and use a different size template to make a different size quilt block. I have a version of the paper patterns that are for a 3 1/2" and a 1 1/2". They are already on QB. I can post the link if anyone wants them.
