Scrappy Star tutorial (slightly updated)
#1

Here is the Scrappy Star quilt tutorial with some slight revisions. QuiltinNan caught some mistakes and also asked me to provide my contact information in the PDF itself, which has been done. This quilt was also posted in the Pictures section - Rhonda did some work with EQ and posted that as well in the comments, which may help (her dimensions are a little different).
I believe that Woody had posted the original picture but she doesn't know who designed it. If anyone can find out, please let me know as I would like to acknowledge that person on the back of the quilt.
ETA per JNCT14: An updated pdf has been added to post #25. Clicking on this link will take you directly there http://www.quiltingboard.com/tutoria...ml#post6466861

In this wonderful tutorial (thank you!) the triangles sewn on the sides of the colorful 'braid' portion are referred to as HSTs.
Wouldn't they be just triangles?
Isn't an HST a square that's comprised of two triangles sewn together?
(I'm a comparative newbie so apologize if this is a stupid question.)
Thanks!

I found another link on a blogspot that has this Braided Star. She said she creatively borrowed it from an Etsy site. Which is probably the same one I found. Anyway, she also has some different dimensions. I also mailed that lady selling her blocks on Etsy for 48.00 a piece (wow), to see if it was her creation.

Yes they are triangles but formed by cutting a square on the diagonal. I use the term HST (probably incorrectly) because there are other triangles such as 60 degree ones and i wanted to be clear on the type..
