Thank you for the tutorial. It is really nice and creative, but i was wondering does the size of the first square have to do with the width of the strips used or anything (what i am trying to ask if they are related?), and how big is the block that you made? and last do u stop adding just when you like the size of the block?

Sorry too many questions, but i would love to try it.

Your quilt is Adorable! I feel honored that I had a small part in it. Of course my directions where to be followed loosely. I did say the the first step hat I cut the pieces big to allow for poor cutting and sewing! I love that you put cats in yours too :)

"ok, so you cut the piece and then sew it on? I can't help but think, I could save time by sewing it on and them cutting it to match. Why can't I sew it on first?"

You can!

The beginning square has no relation to the width of the strips. I just started with a 2 inch square and then "eye-balled" what I thought would be good for the strips. I used 1 1/2 inch strips because they would be 1 inch at the widest stop and I wanted a tight twist. Debd's twist is looser, she posted her measurement on page 5. You can see that no matter what size you choose it will look good. I wonder how it would look to do this around a six inch block as a border???

My block turned out to be 12 inches. Any yes, you just stop when you think you are done. And kids kept saying, "Make it bigger," so I stopped when I ran out of fabric, good thing I didn't have much!
