    Missgigglewings,
I like both of your blocks!! :D Even though you have part of the first block a little different, I think it would look great in your quilt. Just think of the fun you will have, looking at your finished quilt in the years to come!! You will always remember the making of January BOM 2010!! Great work.

Hi Cheryl...........well, here is my very first BOM. I made the focus fabric star from retro fabric that I inherited from my Mother's stash when she died. I always wanted to do something 'special' with the fabric and have plans on using it in other BOM's for the quilt. The only problem is that somehow it isn't a 12 1/2" block...it's an 11 & /34" block. Since this is my first block, will this be a problem in the end; or, should I remake the block and try much harder to cut & sew more accurately? I have always been interested in learning how to quilt and have ready many books, magazines, etc., but, was always afraid to give it a whirl because of the preciseness that is necessary. Sewze

Did you trim your block any?
Cutebuns: I trimmed the jagged edges....just 1/8" all around.

beachlady: no, I haven't tried spraying with the sizing or starch, but, will do so; thanks for the tip.

    Here's mine! It's a learning curve.

I had trouble with the second set of HSTs as half of them were going to be the wrong way round but that was probably me.

    Roll on February! :)
