Awesome! Have to wait till tomorrow to start sewing it together. Love the scrappy sashing. I never would have thought of that, it' perfect.

Oh Dotty, I love that! I hope that mine looks as striking as yours....but it won't be quite as controlled.

This is great Judy! I’m really excited now. I’m going to see if I can pull about 3-4 more fabrics together to make the sashing the more scrappy look. I’ve already have 3 different dark fabrics cut in 2.5” to 3” wide strips to start off with for the sashing to add too. I think 3-4 more will make it a more controlled scrappy like Dotty does. Thank you again Judy. Now I’ll have to wait how long before the next train? Any idea so I can keep a look out?

NZ this is spook-tacular! Well, in a good way. Can't use that expression too often, can I?

Dottie love this look, it is great

Crafty, not sure what you mean about the 2.3 and 3" strips. And no idea when the next mystery will be but not for at least 3 months or more.

Judy, I just meant I have a bunch of fabric scraps that are in widths of either 2.5” or up to 3” from older quilts that didn’t get used for some reason that I’m going to cut down to make into the thinner strips for a scrappy sashing for this quilt. I’m going to combine those with some strips from a few other bits of yardage or maybe some more scraps too.

    Here’s my first block!

    Happy quilting guys!

Crafty - sry I misunderstood. Sounds like a great solution to using all those little pieces. It will be beautiful.
Take a look at the lower left 4-patch. It seems to be rotated the wrong way.
    Your colors look nice together.

Lovely blocks shown so far. I've finished 4 and have decided to go with a simple sashing. My blocks measure 16" so are very bold and I like the idea of toning them down a bit. I haven't decided whether to use cornerstones or not, but probably not.
