Donna, love your blocks... you must have a great selection of scraps. I have been digging and digging for the proper scraps but I finally have them all cut this morning.

How about if you make 4 patches with the lighter color that you used with your dark constant? Then all of your 8.5 pieces could be used & the chain/ladder would be more visible. I was thinking about doing this myself on purpose.

Honchey, we just bought our place in January and haven't had a chance to get down there since. It's actually empty, no furniture, and we are planning to redo the kitchen right away. I look forward to getting it livable and exploring the area. <script type="text/javascript" src="safari-extension://com.ebay.safari.myebaymanager-QYHMMGCMJR/7de6c67b/background/helpers/prefilterHelper.js"></script>

Hi Beachbound, I will have to try that option but for now it's packed away for traveling to NC ..We're leaving this week and I have lots to consider on what to bring with me..I went upstairs to get the luggage and found 2 grocery bags of scraps...I really shouldn't have to buy any more fabric.

baronreads, Oh what fun you're going to have discovering all the new places to visit...South of Wilmington has grown so much in the past few years...keep in touch..maybe do lunch if we're both around at the same time..

I really meant to stay scrappy, I really did, I decided to use the multitude of green pieces that have been threatening to explode their box for the last couple of years ( yes, they have been on every train ride) I immediately found a piece that said"I am the border" and that was acceptable choice (might even be great). Then I sorted and refolded and pressed...and near the bottom of the box, a fabric I almost had forgotten, jumped up and grabbed my shoulder and said "I am the sashings, all of them" I had to agree, don't you see, so the first #9 will be controlled scrappy. The second one will be full on scrappy because I will tiptoe up to the green box with a flashlight and find scraps without waking up the yardage.

Not sure I like this daylight savings time, went to bed at midnight, couldn't sleep. Got up at 2am and this is what I've been doing all night. Any suggestions ? 2nd pic I'm not to crazy about all that gold in the middle. Still have 1 more row to sew
