Don't worry Roxanne...I joined to make everyone who doubts their ability feel better about themselves!!! I'm going to machine applique mine, but the embroidery is going to be a challenge.

Well, the determination I've always had but the fearless ?????
I am quite nervous since I went back and read the entire thread and saw all the beautiful work. I've already learned something about applique though---didn't know about trimming the back fabric away (sorry ladies in the funky chicken swap)
As far as the needlework in the book looking amateurish, it might actually make me feel better.

Paula - I had a duh moment - I never noticed you had put your name below your posts - sorry.
Roxanne, don't worry about things until you get to them. If you have a look at page 26, you can see I put a couple of different machine alternatives to the hand sewing. The first one, with two threads in one needle is as simple as just machining a line along the design. You can even use your quarter inch foot and keep the feed dogs up, so nothing as frightening as a free motion technique needed for that. All you need is a larger needle!

Looking at the information you gave Roxanne. Apparently, I need to sit down and really read my book instead of flipping through it.
Also, see your from Ireland. My second daughter Meghan must have gotten all the Irish that was in both our families because her hair is as red as red can be. :) I'm posting a picture from her wedding last June. We were totally blown away when she was born.

Thanks for the lovely comments! I think Meghan and her sisters are all beautiful, but I'm their mommy so take that with a grain of salt! ;) My daughter Heather (one on the far right of my avatar) and her husband are finalizing a loan to buy the house next door to ours...I am so excited! I wish they could all be so close!!!

I agree, Paula, Meghan really made a beautiful bride, and such lovely hair colour. The flowers she chose really compliments it too.
And as for having Heather live next door, well, when the time comes to babysit, you won't have to go far, will you?

Beautiful young lady, in fact they all are, I love her colouring.
Seems quite a few are now just getting their books will be exciting to see the different colourways you all choose.
