    Default Characters Leaving TV Shows

Does anyone else get frustrated with not being able to find out the "real" reason why some actors/actresses are leaving hit TV shows?

Examples: Ziva (Pablo de Cote) of NCIS, Michael Weatherly of NCIS, Abby of NCIS -

the assistant of Madame Secretary -

the wife of one Detective Reagan on Blue Bloods -

Abby's leaving? OMG! It won't be the same without her. I think most of them get better deals. I know Michael Weatherly did.

I have just googled that character or show and there is usually a statement to a link giving a reason. Maybe true or not, who knows.....some I have really missed and I think the show sort of loses something in the loss/ereplacement.

The why doesn't really bother me. It's basically just a job, a role they play. People's lives change, some leave to be with family. Some get a better deal. Some want to retire. Some get a better offer. Some have an ax to grind. Some think they are irreplaceable and ask for huge increases, and are let go. Some just get tired of the rat race. People in other industries change jobs all the time. I had two "major" jobs. One for 15 years, which I quit because I decided I didn't want to be in the corporate world anymore. The second job, was supposed to be my "fun" job. Lasted 25 years and I quit because it wasn't fun anymore!!!

It doesn't really matter to me - I just don't know why they can't say something like -

"I have enough money now - I don't want to work at this job any more."
"I am tired of playing this character - I don't care how much money they are willing to pay me."

Maybe they can't say something like :

"The working conditions here are terrible and I can't stand my co-workers"
"So-and-so is getting paid a lot more for a lot less screen time and I am peeved."

I get really peeved when a news, weather, or sports person leaves the air, a new one comes in and no word at all of what happened to the old one unless it is a retirement.

If the story line is good I don't miss them after few episodes. I don't like seeing movies with the same actors all the time. Give the unknowns a chance, most could be as good or better then the same old ones.

    i watch the Good Doctor.
last night, a guy got fired for beating up a co worker.
i wonder why he is leaving. the show just started.
maybe it's he was only scheduled for a certain amt of screen hrs.
maybe he wanted more money, who knows.

I had to take out several flubs while quilting my most recent one (Providence Lodge). Stitches that were jerky or wildly long or otherwise botched. A piece of the backing sewn on wrong. Thankfully not this same quilt) I didn't realize a scrap piece about 4x10 had gotten under my quilt while I was sewing and I sewed the piece to the back. I wondered "why does this feel so thick?" Hmmm...

I'm not sure that character is actually gone.

I'm not frustrated by the why, but I actually do miss some of the characters, like Linda on Blue Bloods.
