Would some one please tell me why everyone is crazy for the featherweight? I have one that looks brand new and was bought for my stepdaughter when she was about 13, she is now 60. It was a used machine then. It works just fine, however I don't use it and the step daughter never did. I just gave my slanto-matic 400 singer to my daughter in- law. It still works like new too and I bought it in 1964.

I bought mine to take to my quilting group. It is light weight, a workhorse and just so cute! Love my FW. If my regular "modern" machine balks at a thick seam when I'm sewing purses, I get get out my FW and she does not miss a stitch!

I wanted mine to be able to sit out on the patio and sew sometimes. I do alot of sewing. But like being outside some too.

Thank you all for letting me know, I guess I will pull it out of the closet and start using it. I know it sews canvas, because I have sewn the boat curtains on it. I know my brother and Viking are so heavy I just let them stay on their desks.
