    Hi there,

Left is Sidney - she's 13 years old, a Poodle-Spitz mix and has the attitude of a teen ager! She hates went she gets dirty (oh! I'm so hideous - I need to go to the groomer and get my hair done!)

On the right is Fergus - he's 12 years old and is a Lhasa-Spitz mix and is a major sucky-baby. When we first got him, he must have been frightened by a man because it took almost a year before my husband could get close to him without major growling. Thank goodness that changed when I my husband had to pick him up from the groomer because I had to work late.

I thought it would be a catastrophy - but when Fergus saw my husband at the door - he thought Hubbie was there to rescue him, (he's very timid even with the groomer) and since then, they've become BEST BUDS!!!!

We got the two dogs from the same breeder so they are sister/brother with the either the same mother or father hence the Spitz side of their mix.

They are our little babies since our children are all grown and have left the nest to start their own families.

They bring us such joy and laughter with their oh-so-human personalities.

Besides quilting, dogs are my favorite topic. We have 5. The first pic should be my Yorkie, Bailee who is undergoing chemo for lymphoma at the moment. Sedona is the second photo and is our adopted racing greyhound. We have had 4 of them but have 2 right now. The third one is Sage our oldest dog at 12 years of age. Hopefully these photos post and I will send another post with the last two.

Oh my last two photos are of Lacee, our Yorkie Poo and our recent adoptee is Journee who is a Great Dane and will be 3 next month. They are all girls and get along wonderfully. I highly recommend adoption as I am convinced they appreciate their new home. We opened our business at our home so that they could be with us all day long.

I haven't figured out how to post pics yet. But I think it is really cool that most quilters are also animal lovers. Just goes to show how wonderful y'all are!:)

All my dogs have been adopted from the humane society. And I too am convinced they appreciate their new home and are exta loving.

These are pictures of my girl Roxie. She is 7 years old. She was my daughters dog and we "adopted" her. I can't imagine life without her now.

These were taken by a friend of mine for the blog named on pic

I love it that so many of us have doggies!! :-D
Here is my baby. He is a 2 1/2 yr old, Blue Great Dane. His name is Mortimer Bluebear. He weights in at 160 right now, which is his summer weight. He is very gentle, and has the run of the place. He always winds up in bed with us sometime in the middle of the night.

I can have her outside 15 minutes and she does not go, then as soon as she is in the house she piddles or poops. Some days are better and some days are bad. I just don't know what to do. She does hold her bladder all night. I do have a puppy paper in the Master bathroom in case she does get up at nite and I don't hear her. She also has this other problem of licking everything. It almost drives us crazy sometimes. I usually put earplugs in at nite so I don't hear her, or I wouldn't get any sleep. Somedays it is worse than others. Any suggestions? How long do I wait until I make that decision. Any Advice???

Hi pvquilter. You'll know when the time is right. Listen to you gut. I don't know how we know, but we just do. I do not have dogs, I have cats. My first one was very ill and it was the right time. My second one was not in any pain, but her heart was going, then her kidneys. Then she started hiding in the closet, and had a temp. The vet wanted to do blood tests, but I thought, what for, to find out something else age related that nothing can be done about? So I held her and kissed her and told her she did not have to hold on for me any longer. I would be ok. I swear she seemed relieved and was ready. Don't be too hard on yourself. You'll know when it is time. I wish you peace.
Have a heart to heart talk with Millie, tell her you love her and ask her to let you know when she is ready and she will when the time is right. I learned this when I had 5 kittens with feline leukemia, 1 dog with congestive heart failure and a seventeen year old dog. My prayers to Millie and your family.
