I have a roll-up screen door which is mounted horizontally on the door frame. It's wonderful as it doesn't obscure the look of the door and is "rolled out" only when needed.

Here's the problem! The screen is so finely woven that it appears there is no screen at all! Get the picture.....we have all walked "through" the screen and the dogs are traumatized by what appears to be an open door.

I need help for ideas of how to make the screen more visible. You can put decals on a sliding glass door to remind you it's there but what and how do you mount or place something on the screen to make it visible?????

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Maybe paint some thin stripes on it to make it look like a french door? Or you could get really artistic and paint polka dots

I bought a screen protector made of two metal butterfly's, one has a magnet so you put one outside and one inside match them up and it
looks like one. It lays flat on the screen and is about 3 in.

Polka dots - that's a GREAT idea!

I love love LOVE my Phantom screens.

I don't have anyone here accidentally walking into them, but I love the idea of "spiffing" them up a bit.

Painting a design would be neat, maybe a stenciled pattern? My first thought was to tie threads on the door, but I think I like the paint design better.

Sounds beautiful but it would prevent the screen from rolling back into its housing compartment (narrow as it is)
- and quite probably rip the screen in the process.

I have the magnetic geckos on my sliding screen door. They are cute but they would cause problems if the screen was rolled up with them on. You could remove them before rolling up the screen. Perhaps a piece of white embroidery thread could be woven across the screen at a persone's eye level and pets eye level? It is tricky to weave thread through screen and you really need one peron on the inside and another on the outside passing the needle back and forth. It wouldn't hurt the screen to be rolled up with the thread woven through the weave.

I don't have one but wondering if you could "thread paint" something pretty on it??

Cross-stitching on screen mesh was the thing several years ago. Shouldn't interfere with rolling up your screen. Maybe a suncatcher (looks like stained glass) window ornament could be hung with a hook, and removed when you need to roll up the screen?

I have one of these to be installed but my neighbor has one and believe me, I've run into it many times!! I think some type of fabric paint would work since it is like a woven fabric. Maybe stencil some cute designs on it?
