I have 4 cats! Sammie, Simba, Kiwi and Chester. They always sit with me in my sewing room when I am working on something.
    Just love them so much!

I love cats but have to keep them in pictures and clay. DH does not abide by them to my sorrow. Do have a wonderful rottweiler pit bull mix that takes place of my virtual kitty. She loves to be rubbed and will come and sit by me at the machine.

Thank all of you for posting about your kitties. We used to have up to six cats at one time, but they are all gone now to kitty heaven. We miss them dearly. I miss all of my quilting buddies. With both of us working full time, didn't think it was fair to get kittens and then leave them alone. When I retire in a few years, we are hoping to enjoy kitties again.

I have always been a dog person. When my daughter was moving and couldn't take the kitten I helped my grandson pick out, my DH and I adopted him. Grandson named him Duke(a cat) so now we kept the name and call him Mr. Dukie. He is 2 yrs old and we have had him for 1 1/2 yrs. He is unique and we just love him to death. He makes us laugh everyday with his antics. My DH never had a cat even as a child, but he loves this big guy (14.6 lbs). I dog sit my daughters Shorkie (Lily) 3 days a week while she works. Dukie just won't give into Lily. She wants to play and he sometimes trys, but then swats and hisses at her. Lily is 7 lbs.

Your precious Dolly looks a lot like my Baby who is getting old. I dread the day we lose him. We have already lost his companion, a bobtail calico. I still cry for her.

I can't speak to what percentage of us have cats, but I'm sure the number must be pretty high. We have 4 cats (Emma, Kasey, Franklin, and Eleanor) and a dog (Sylvie). I don't allow the cats to get near a quilt in progress, but they LOVE the finished products. I cut the practice (learning to use my mid-arm machine) quilts and old quilts up to give to them for their beds.

1 dog and 1 cat. The cat stays hidden most of the time and doesn't come around my machines because she is afraid of them.
