Here I am...a free afternoon and evening to quilt because of a severe winter storm. I started FMQ this but I'm just not motivated!! I've been 'on break' for about 3 hours now. Guess I'll go to bed and try tomorrow....office is closed tomorrow because of the storm!! whoot! whoot!

I live south of Fort Worth TX, and temp just hit 15 degrees - the water froze, so we immediately got busy trying to get it open again. Suppose to drop to 11 tonight. We're just not used to this kind of cold - heat? yes! The wind is gusting heavier again....I can't imagine what people north and east are going through. I pray the electric grid holds up.

I'm in it with ya! Poor African husband shoveling every few hours, wondering how he got himself into this. Kinda like when I'm washing clothes in a bucket on " vacations" over there. Just hope it clears up before I have to go to work tomorrow evening. I'm a nurse, we never close!

I hear ya...I am in-house now with all surgical call teams & all administrators...we turned our same day unit into a hotel...weird to sleep with Docs & CEOs & and such :-). I'd rather be working now & sleep tomorrow when they all go home ;-)

Our daughter lives in Chicagoland too...had to walk 1 1/2 miles to her condo as no cabs available...she had on boots but they were her "work boots" so I'm sure they had heels big time....but she made it home.

In Possum Trot, we're dealing with wind gusts of 35 - 40 mph after it being almost 60...not nice weather even if it sounds like it...tornados like to show up on nights like this. Suppose to be high of 27 tomorrow...go figure, half of what it was today.

Take care, be safe and stay home when you can.

Folks who left work in downtown Chicago at 5pm still stranded on Lake Shore Drive at 11pm! They ran outta gas and are hiking. So glad I wasn't scheduled tonight! How would I get there? And bunking with coworkers and execs and docs, mmmmmm, rather not.

I am in Albuquerque, NM and its1 in the am. Its 3 degrees but with a windchill of -24 and it hasn't hit the coldest part f the night yet. Winds 35 35mph. Tomorrow is supposed to be 13 with -5 at night but we will still have the winds so I expect -double digits until Thrusday when it is suppose to go back up to low 40s, then everyone will wonder why they are sick with such a temp. Change.only a few inches of snow. I will stay in and work on projects.
