Default wait don't throw out your old xmas cards...

If you have an accuquilter or any die cutter, you can cut out different shapes (star, circle, flowers, even simple squares) to make gift tags for next year....like I did....they are very cool

Cool idea, couldn't you use scissors too, to cut out the shapes.

I few years ago I gave my niece a Sizzex .. She recycles all the Christmas cards into tags. She has even set up a little business with family members. We give her our cards . She gives us back gift tags.

I have some of the cool paper scissors with the difference edges to them like scallop and zig zag that I use specifically for paper. This is a great idea. I started keeping the cards I receive a couple of years ago.

Great idea! I knew I was saving all those cards for a reason.

Off topic of sorts but I don't buy Hallmark, Disney or American Greeting cards These companies won't let St. Jude's kids reuse the front of their cards to make new cards to sell in the gift shop. The cards are already sold to someone before St. Jude gets them so it's not like they are losing money on that one card. They would rather the cards be thrown in the trash then reused by St. Judes. These companies don't get a penny of my money if I know they are part of the product. St. Judes asks that the whole card be sent so the Hallmart, Disney and American Greeting cards can be thrown out and not used.

I am going to use my favorite ones for mug rugs by photoing on transfer paper then ironing onto fabric of choice. Have not done it yet but have some to take to the office supply store to photo, my printer ran out of ink yesterday & with the price of ink it is cheaper to go to the office supply store and do it.
