Only the song in my head--(I can't remember what it would of been)--we were married by a JP in a very quick civil ceremony.

Was a very traditional wedding, my father walked me down the aisle to Mendelsohn Wedding March. Our soloist presented Because and I Love You Truly preceding the ceremony and The Lord's Prayer during it. That was 1962.

Being a conservative church, he was not allowed to sing You'll Never Walk Alone, one of my most favorite songs, as it was considered too theatrical. It was from Broadway, the play, Carousel.

Since we were only 18 and 19, the statement was heard, it'll never last or I give it a year. God willing, we will celebrate our Golden Anniversary next March.

The first time it was "Little Brown Church in the Vale" back in 1960. We were married there.

The second time it was "Little Brown Church in the Vale" last year when we renewed our vows there for our 50th anniversary.

There's a church in the valley by the wildwood
No lovelier spot in the dale.
No spot is so dear to my childhood
As the Little Brown Church in the Vale.

How sweet on a clear Sabbath morning
To list to the clear ringing bell
Its tones so sweetly are calling
O come to the Church in the Vale.

We rang that bell twice - in 1960 and in 2010.

Oh I remember it well, just 1 1/2 yrs ago and it was "The First Time Ever I Saw your Face" simply beautiful, but I lost him to cancer just 7 1/2 months later. We married in Gibraltar outside and it was a beautiful day.

Mine was a Carpenters Song "For all we Know" love the lyrics and they seemed to fit, we were nineteen and still getting to know each other. Been married 39 years. But in another life, I would never do it again.

My husband and I walked down the aisle to "We've only just begun". It's been 39 years now.
