    Default Too Excited From Texas

I am recently retired and am filling my spare time with learning to quilt. I started a quilt 30 years ago and finished it just a year ago. It was not perfect but it was mine and I thought it was great until my mother got a closer look at it. I did the top fine, by hand, but when I put it all together it has many places where it does not lay flat.

My mom was in the hospital for several weeks this past spring, so I bought fabric and began a new quilt top. It was great. Much easier than the first one that I had made and I did get it together better than the first.

The third one is about 3/4 finshed and it is coming together nicely. I am definitely learning as I go. My problem is I let patterns intimindate me. If it looks like it has too many pieces I won't even attempt it. I need some not to hard pattern to do that won't scare me. Any suggestions???

    HI...welcome from N.Oklahoma neighbor!
For fast easy patterns, check out the McCalls quick & easy magazine or website!
Yellow brick road, turning twenty, Take 5, warm wishes, and and any of the BQ patterns from Maple island are always GREAT patterns to work with!

Welcome Don't let a patten scare you many are just blocks or 1/2 triangls. Buy the book 1,000 great quilt blocks by Maggie McCormic Gordon. I bought it on Alibris.com book 512 page hard cover used(like new) 2.99 plus 3.00 It will show you how simple these blocks are.
    Hope your Mom is better.
