All pet stores sell shells for reptile bedding, you can purchase a bag from them.

Same thing happened with pin cushions I made.

People use them to put in aquariums that house lizards.

I know Martha Stewart has a place she orders hers from, I don't know it off the cuff but I would guess if you went to her site you could search it.

If you have a pet supply store near you, you can purchase large bags of lizard litter which says right on the bag that it is crushed English walnut shells. I work in a quilt shop and my friends all use this for their pincushions. It is inexpensive that way and is wonderful to work with.
