That is very interesting thank you. I used to tie mine just by using the squares etc on my quilt, but if you have one without that this is super!

Somewhere I bought a package of lightweight non iron interfacing that had holes cut in it for tying quilts but that was many years ago. I don't see why you couldn't make one yourself with the cheap interfacing and marking where you want the holes. I think there were two sizes for tying quilts, one about four inches and the other about five inches apart.

Years ago they made several, some were in patterns, I have one that makes hearts and a couple others for different squares, but the gingham sounds like a great idea.
