If you have a smart phone you can download the app "Point". Then under the business section of Point type in quilt shop. We did this last year on our road trip to Montana. It was wonderful. Point shows you the closest shop and the directions to get there. I found some absolutely wonderful shops.

I recommend this book. It also lists quilt shows.

If you are getting close to St. Cloud , Minnesota you have to stop at Gruber's. They have thousands of bolts of beautiful fabric, it will take hours to go through there. It's on 3rd Street No.

Not sure if you have been to Quilt fabric.com it is a brick and morter store with more batiks than I have seen in any other store in IL ( but may not have gotten to all of them). They are just off RT 55 go north on rt 83 they are in Willowbrook. If you hit the Bakers Square you missed the intersection.
    Happy shopping !
