I am back with another question about my first Dresden I am going to stitch my blades done with invisible thread and aurifil in the bobbin do you all see any problems with that or is there a better way. Thanks

I see no problems with this at all. Whenever I use invisible in the top, longarm or domestic, I usually have a regular thread in the bobbin. I normally use Superior Bottom Line in my domestic bobbin and magnaglide prewounds in the longarm bobbin. Neither combo has given me any problems. Your Aurifil should be just fine in the bobbin.

Try the thread combination first on a practice sandwich to see if you need to adjust tensions. I use the invisible thread with a pre-wound embroidery bobbin. You may need to put the invisible thread on a thread stand so it has room to unwind before it gets to the machine. This helps avoids kinks and breakage. The thread may also need a thread net.

You may have to change the needle size and/or type if you have problems.

You'll be fine with whatever you use in the bobbin for piecing. I use a lot of MonoPoly by Superior, and for the bobbin it's Bottomline. You absolutely need the supplied thread net, and... get your thread spool as close to the first thread guide as your machine allows, while still pulling off the end of the spool. If you are using something other than MonoPoly this info may not apply.

If your invisible thread comes on a small spool, rather than a cone, I find that if I just set the spool in a jar by my machine then thread it through the thread guides, it pulls freely off the spool without snagging or knotting up. It just kinda bounces around the jar, but it works!

I use invisible thread often for appliqué with Aurifil in my bobbin ( my invisible thread is actually Aurifil too from Superior Threads. Works well for me

This is what I do also but I tape a closed safety pin to the right end of the machine as an extra thread guide. I save olive jars for this purpose and use them with the short cones that Anton-Robison or Hemingway come on. The jars need to be heavy enough that they don't tip over easily. Of course, there are also the fancy thread stands with extendable thread guides one can buy, but the jars are the "in a pinch and want to get this done" remedy.

I've used this combo many times and never had a problem with the monopoly thread. I use the invisible thread by Aurifil and a thread stand to avoid any tangles.
