Awhile back a lady (I think from NY) made a beautiful quilt for a male friend who had cancer. She used a pattern like the one in the link above with blues and purples and maybe some greens in Batik fabrics.

Maybe someone book marked the picture and can add that information. I didn't know about bookmarking when I saw it.

I've used a pattern called "Fractions" and really liked the results. Check out Mountain Peek Creations.

Great quilt. Now I know what to do with the fall fat quarters in my stash.

My favorite stained glass patterns are by Brenda Henning in Alaska - she's also got a ton of books using Bali Pops (precut batik strips) http://bearpawproductions.com/index.php

I'm including pictures of two of my daughters' stained glass quilts they made when they were 15. You stitch Clover fusible bias tape over the edges with a double needle, through all layers, quilting as you go. Fun!! The Butterfly won sweepstakes at our county and state fair that year.
