I have been to my LQS and they are selling their floor model for $3200. It will be completely serviced and I will get the full warranty. Is this a good price considering the new line coming out? I went on ebay and the used ones are cheaper but I don't know how warranties transfer. Anyone have a clue?

That is the price for it. I hope you are getting the Embroidery hoop with it for that price. Our store is selling the floor model for 2700 but it does not have the hoop.

Warranties do not transfer for any used sewing machine, so if you're dealer is extending the warranty to you, that's something to consider. Of course, store warranty is different than manufacturer warranty and if they ever go out of business or close their doors.... I haven't heard about a new model coming out. But, if it's going to replace this series, I'd probably want to wait and see what the new machines have.

They have been in business for 30 years. She told me it would be manufacturer warranty. The computer boards are covered for 5 years, the electrical for 2 and the mechanics for 20. That is really what made me think twice about ebay.

So, the machine is a demo machine then and not a used machine. Demos are different than "used" machines. Because used machines have been registered and the warranty wouldn't transfer.

My first Bernina was a used 440 QE got it and the embroidery module for about $2300. I know that it sells new for a lot more. You can ask how many hours are on it. Mine came with the remainder of the original warranty. Good luck, I loved my 440, but traded up to a 730 and DH made a great trade in deal with my dealer and I now am the proud owner of an 830 LE. That is the nice thing about the Berninas, they hold their value. I think the 440 is the Aurora models and the new line replaces the Artista line, but I might be wrong.

That is correct and to answer the last post, no embroidery hoop comes with it. I don't do embroidery anyway. My plate is full just working on my fm.

So, your dealer gave you the warranty extention correct? Because Bernina doesn't transfer warranties on used machines. This is always a bit risky in that if your dealer closes their doors you're no longer covered:

Let's try this again. The machine is the stores demo not a trade in. So it shouldn't be registered..... right?
