Some years ago my late husband lost his wallet. He'd been to a bakery to surprise me and bought a big shopping bag full of loaves.Could not find his wallet when he came home. About a week later I needed something I knew was at the very bottom of the freezer ( chest type) and something black caught my eye. A wallet. He had put his wallet into the bag at the bakery instead of his pocket and simply dumped the contents into the freezer. So Manly!

You probably did not put it there this time either. I am fully convinced there are Quilting Room Gremlins afoot in the world. Stuff goes walkabout around here now and then too.

I know just what you mean. I have a package of pictures of all the quilts I have made somewheres, and can't find them. One day when I least expect it, I am sure they will pop up!

A friend and I went to her beach house and we were going to make Halloween Costumes for our grand-children,.So we got ready for bed, and she ask me had I seen her glasses. I said "NO, I haven't. So she kept looking, she came into where I was in bed reading, and said, Who's glasses on top of your head. I had hers on reading and mine were on top of my head. Got lots of laughter out of that one, and I hadn't even had a margarita....Fun Fun

In this instance I find it helpful to ask someone else if they can see it. I think sometimes we can't see the forest for the trees because we are so intent on what we are looking for. I nick named my Mum Hawkeye when she was alive as she would always find what I couldn't see right in front of me.

I live alone, and my dogs aren't much help. In fact if they went into the basement I would be convinced they hid the basting spray from me. I can only blame myself.

In my house every time I lose some thing my daughter asked me if it's in the microwave. I have a habit of putting coffee or tea in there to warm up and forgetting about it until I go to use it again.
And yes I have Gremlins in my house too. I swear I will look somewhere for something its not there I go back a bit later and it is.

I'll bet you never found your basting spray in the kitchen cabinet before!.. I must have been in quite a tizzy that day, as my kitchen is on the other end of the house! I don't know how long it's been there either; I can only guess that I had it in my hand, got distracted ( probably by something chocolate...) and put it in there... ahhhh, I can't wait for old age to set in!
