Question Can Warm & Natural Batting Be Used For Microwave Cozy?

Can the Warm & Natural batting be used in the microwave bowl cozy? It's 100% cotton. If not appropriate which batting should I use?
    Thank you!

It does have a poly scrim but my friend made me one with W&N. Just be sure to give instructions NOT to use it any longer than 3 minutes. That is my understanding of the situation.

I use the Quilter's Dream batting. It is 100% cotton with no scrim. http://www.amazon.com/Quilters-Dream...VH762XF1WFH9E9

I'm not suggesting you buy it from Amazon, buy you can roll over the picture and see that it says 100% cotton and no scrim.

I have always told those I gifted the microwave bowl holders not to heat it for more than 4 minutes on high power.

    Fond on their website:

Warm & Natural is 87.5% cotton fibers and 12.5% Polypropylene scrim. Warm & Natural is made with 100% USA Grown High grade cotton fibers.

I made mine with Wrap and Zap and keep the micro timing under 3 min. No problems so far.

Warm and Natural has a special batting made exclusively for the microwave. I wouldn't suggest using regular W&N as it can catch fire. Definitely NOT a good thing!!!!

I would not feel comfortable in using it as it is not 100% cotton. I have to be careful too with what thread I use when making microwave things because much of my thread is a cotton/polly blend. Fabric, batting and thread should all be 100% cotton to be on the safe side. I had heard that Warm Company is no longer making Warm Tater which came in a package but I bought some Warm Company 100% cotton by the yard recently at a quilt shop. It is 24" wide.

I only use Wrap n Zap, all cotton fabric and thread. I use it when making oatmeal and its in there for 4 min. Never had a problem. You can get it from Walmart.com for just over $4 a pkg.
