If you have a yard or so in the colors you are considering, I would lay the yard of fabric on the floor and place the blocks on it to see what colors you like best. Like I did with my mod mosaic blocks here:

I would lay a few blocks on larger pieces of fabric in different colors and see which one pops. You couls also take a picture of each selection to get a better view. Good luck with your choice and your block are great!

A red would highlight them but may stand out more than the blocks. A blue would make the blocks the center of attention. Great job!

How about a pale lemonade yellow. Not white and it would make the yellow in those squares pop. It would also make this a more spring or summertime quilt. I'm really not into this 'darker' trend that some quilts have. While they are beautiful, I find that the 'lighter' tones make me feel happy when I look at them.

Whatever color you decide, you might want to use your blocks in the corners of a D9P. I think you might get a great effect. I would use the those in the 4 corners, a red in the centre and black for the sashing pieces (even tho I know you would prefer not to use black I think it would really show off your blocks) imoho )

The first color that came to mind when I saw all of your great looking blocks was red!

Cheddar, my go to color. It looks great with scrappy blocks. Check out Bonnie Hunter's Cheddar Bow Ties quilt

Wow, the purple really makes the colors pop, while the grey washes the colors out!
