I don't care if I find fabric that looks like Vera Bradley. I've got so many cute purses. Tweety Bird is about worn out. I've got a farm fabric bag. I've just made one with ice cream cones and cookies on the bottom, turquoise linen on top and a dancing cow for the closing flap. I've got several linen bags that I got bits of fabric cheap.

Luckily, I'm not a slave to names!

I have made bags for tablets sort of in her style. I like the use of color. I don't make purses. I don't carry one. If it doesn't fit in my pocket, I don't need it.

I was fortunate enough to find two Vera Bradley bags that I LOVE at yard sales over this weekend - One was $8 and the other was only $7!! SCORE!!

I agree. I have made both the larger and mini-bow tucks and been asked by a number of folks, "Is that a Vera Bradley bag." I am happy they came out well enough for folks to comment on!

Vera Bradly had a 75% off sale online this weekend on select colors/prints. I never pay full price for a VB bag. I have a lot of them. I give the big duffle and the weekender as gifts to females friends/family. They are great for short trips. I found one at a thrift store and took it apart for a pattern. No way would I save enough to bother making one when I can get it for 75% off several times a year.

I'm in a wheelchair and I make backpack purses because they work well with the chair. Mine are very similar to VB backpacks. I don't have a pattern. Instead, I pretty much measure out how deep I want pockets, etc.

And a clue I learned here---------keep the lining in a light color. Makes it easier to see what's inside.

Most of mine are from remnants and scraps-----------cost way less than$10 per.
