Looks like Elmer's has lots of friends. And thank you all for the ideas and tips about what to use. I just used the regular tip and tried to carefully drag it for a small line of glue. Then pressed it. Washed right out! I don't know if you could leave it in. Don't do applique or wall-hangings so that needs to be tested. I bought the glue sticks and will try them. I'll post and let you know what I think when I do it. It will be a while since I have no quilts going right now. Great forum! thanks everyone!

I love the liquid--not the glue stick. I've used it for sandwiching, binding, applique and matching seams. Today I even used it to glue bias tape on potholders. I know it will hold until I get around to sewing it on. I agree--it's my BFF!

I bought mine from Sharon Schamberg's web site.

Does the glue do any damage to the sewing machine? I know 505 does.

Just FYI ..... I put a pool of Elmer's glue on a piece of tinfoil and then dip head a of a flat head nail into the glue and dot it along one half of the material pieces that I am putting together - and then use my iron to seal. This is a lot less messy and a lot less expensive than buying tips for your glue bottles - and - I have a lot more control of how much glue goes on the fabric.

have you had any problems with the sewing machine using the glue and do you think the pointy oil bottles will work? I'd really like to try this!!

Yes it did help. Thank you!
