    Default elmers glue

    Does anyone know what the uk equivalent is? I used to use the micro stitch tack gun and it was great tried spray basting and not having a good experience

    You want to look for washable school glue, whatever the 5-10 year olds use in school.

    Americans say "Elmers" because the brand is recognized throughout the US, just like "Xerox", which is now both the brand and the process. Any washable glue will work. I have used both the blue gel (stick) and the white stick and liquid and have had equal success.

    I remember it also coming in a paste form. The teacher would spoon out about half a teaspoon onto a piece of construction paper and we used a popsicle stick to spread it. And there was always the kid who would eat his. Ewwwww!

    I actually have a stock of the Elmer's glue paste. I prefer it for freezer paper applique, as it's easier for me to apply than glue stick. None of the local stores stock it anymore, but I found it online. It's the same stuff I used in kindergarden!
