I did one quilt and although it worked, I hate having to wait for it to dry. When I want to quilt, I want to quilt. I tried speeding it up with the iron but it didn't help much. You have to glue one side, wait a day and do the other side, wait a day. What am I missing?

I haven't tried this yet, you really have to wait a day between doing each side? I haven't read anyone mention that. No way would I bother with that. I'll continue to use spray adhesive and some pinning.

I glue the backing ....little beads of glue....lay the batting on, glue the batting...little beads of glue......then top, and let dry overnite and start quilting in the morning.

I iron mine. No waiting. Just ironing time. I've glued and quilted the same day.

I glue one side, wait an hour or so, then do the other side. You really don't need to even wait that long, to flip it. I usually baste a quilt in the evening and by the next morning, it's dry and ready to quilt.

I don't wait between glueing the layers. I put backing on the ground and put glue on it and lay out the batting on top. Then I put glue on the batting and put the quilt top on right afterwards. I do wait overnight for it to dry tho

i love glue basting but have never done a large, bed sized quilt. I think your hair dryer idea is excellent!

I glue one side, flip it over and glue the other side. Let it dry overnight and quilt the next day or whenever. Has been working for me for quite awhile.

A question from someone who's never worked with the glue: do you have to wash the piece when you're all done to remove the glue, or is it okay to just leave it in there?
